Professional/Selective Outrage
Professional outrage:
Certain women and men know the groupthink cells (people who share the same context due to
ideology and/or gender agenda) will follow them blindly if they use the correct dog
whistles.
Dog-whistle politics is political messaging employing coded language that appears to mean
one thing to the general population but has an additional, different or more specific
resonance for a targeted subgroup.
When the terms "thug", "welfare queen", "fatherless", and/or "rape culture" are used, you
can pretty much figure out where the article is going before you complete the first
paragraph. It's a shame these disingenuous tactics work, but people haven't evolved past
groupthink yet. Momentum can MAKE things right even if there are no facts backing up the
Whistle Blower's stance. Even then, facts can be manufactured and stats can be skewed.
Anybody can be painted into a villain, using their own off-color commentary and everybody
else's perception of it-outside of the original context of the statement.
We should monitor this behavior.
